Term Limits in Other States -- History, Status and Effects

Fifteen states currently have term limits for legislators.  In all, 21 states have enacted term limits for legislators, but the laws have been repealed or found unconstitutional in six of those states.   

Term Limit Legislation in PA --  Senate Bill 1304
Senator John H. Eichelberger, Jr., Prime Sponsor 

Senate Bill 1304 would amend the Pennsylvania Constitution to provide that no member of the Pennsylvania General Assembly shall serve more than a total of 12 years in the Senate and a total of 12 years in the House of Representatives over the course of his lifetime.
